no no and NO!
I know its a novel idea, but i still believe in Skill>Time
this is falling to shambles in pve obviously, but minipets were intended for nothing more than self amusement
Watch, next thing you'll have r10 Ursan/Panda only groups
Dont start a divide...

I would like to see minipet racing take off, but of course they would have to give us the ability to command them so it probably won't happen.

I don't care if a mini pet gives +11111111 health, but there's enough QQ threads already (let's imagine : "This is not rant ! I want ANet to make monsters drop minipets because the bonus of mini-(Gwen, Kanaxai, Panda, Polar Bear or whatever) is unfair !!!") (I'm out of inspiration tonight xD).

No, there are only a limited supply of minipets (perhaps not Mallyx) since you can now dedicate them there is realy no purpose in keeping *every one* I think that having a special mini storage would not only clutter things up even more, but we would see a decline in minipet sales.

I lold. You got that bit wrong...
"+2 HP regeration and Healing Breeze costs 5 less energy to cast for mini Prince Rurik"
aaaaanyway...
The idea has merit. We already have a load of other buffs for PvE...it's not like it would make a massive difference to the game, especially if the buffs are only very slight.

You wouldn't really need to though...just keep the minipet that's most useful to your favourite build, or class.
That being said, yes, many people would whine and moan and complain...because they have recently sold their minature Island Guardian and really wanted the +1% longer enchantments it afforded you...

Wind Riders use Illusion Magic, not Domination.
Giving benefits based on a particular mini means people have to get the right one. If my Mesmer gets a Siege Turtle, and I wanted a Wind Rider, I have to wait a year, and then hope. If I get an Aatxe on year 2, I then have to trade.
PvE only is the only smart thing you said. Even there, it would provide more reasons for PUGs to discriminate, people to fail without their crutches, and people to QQ on forums.

minis- should jsut be for display.
+ there is enough debate over titles giving mechanical benifits if minis too then people need mini's as opposed to want minis.

Besides, I would have thought that that wind rider minipet idea was purely an example of the types of buffs the minipet could bring.

People claim to need a lot of things in this game. If everything they own is not perfect, or can't be acquired with absolute non-grindy minimal effort, people whine and claim they "need" it and that Anet should make it so.
But you're right... If minipets did provide a buff, no matter how small and insignificant, such as +1% longer enchantments, or +2% speed boost etc.. groups would discriminate heavily, conveniently forgetting that it was possible to do everything before the update was introduced.

/signed. WTH it gives them a use and the effect when compared to consumables, shrines, and pve skills is a joke.
Also signed for minipet battles, minipet evolutions, feeding minipets to other minipets as to mix up characteristics, minipet kennel....
sigh.

hmm, interestign idea, but notsigned.
Every Advantage, be it so tiny as you want, IS an advantage over others, especially with stat effects, like +1 in attribute (xx%) ...
nah ..
when minipets should get a better use, then they should enable players maybe to transform into the bigger version of the Minipet itself
*wants to transform into Kuunavang omg or at least into a nice Saltspray Dragon, which is the same creature model, but tinier XD*
or *wants to transform into an Oni ^^ onimusha anyone ? XD hrhrhrhrh*
PS. Minipet battles would be funny a la Pokemon XD, but then only with Minipets of Monsters, looks stupid with minipets of NPC#s or heroes, stuff like Koss, Varesh, Rurik ect. should not be usable for this

Unify the miniatures with Polymock.
Here you are, an use:
- Miniatures 'stored' like hats, since they would be given to register them. But they would allow you to make 'customized copies' of them for 100g.
- More polymock pieces.
- Account wide polymock unlock...
That could do.

Minipets should all get the same function, but varying upon their rarity.
White minis get +3 to e-peen.
Purple minis get +5 to e-peen.
Gold minis get +10 to e-peen
Green minis get +20 to e-peen.
So.../halfsigned
